Set in the heart of Rock Oyster Country, the award-winning Narooma Oyster Festival is Australia’s iconic oyster celebration! 

Join chefs, shuckers and producers on the shore of Wagonga Inlet from May 1 to 3, with Rock Oyster Week across the South Coast from April 26.

FRIDAY, MAY 1

Join us as we gather on the foreshore on the eve of the festival’s biggest day.

Headlined by Sarah Mcleod, it will be a night to remember with Oyster Bars, Seafood and Food Market, our Seared and Salty Dinner supported by Olsson’s Salt, Whale Coast Fireworks Cruise and a stunning Fireworks show over the inlet.

SATURDAY, MAY 2

A huge day of tastings, masterclasses, cruises, cooking demonstrations, Yuin Culture food market and live music with Rock Oysters and the merroir of the South Coast woven into every element of the program. Don’t miss the Australian Oyster Shucking Championships and Australia’s Biggest Oyster.

Buses travel from Batemans Bay, Merimbula and Bermagui and there’s a free shuttle around Narooma.

SUNDAY, MAY 3

Breakfast, yoga, music and we’ll be giving away a MG ZS Vibe! By joining us for breakfast, you’ll be supporting the local groups who volunteer their time and expertise to make Narooma such a great place to live.

FRIDAY, MAY 1

Join us as we gather on the foreshore to start the celebration!

As the sun sets, feast from the Oyster Bars, the Borrowed Cuttings Liquor Bar, enjoy the live music and the Seafood and Food Market then watch the fireworks over Wagonga Inlet at 8.45pm.

Live music headlined by Sarah McLeod, supported by Spindrift Saga, Sunday Lemonade, Waikama and the Narooma High School Band with performance by Studio Blue.

There’s free tickets for children under 17 (must be accompanied by an adult), and there’s a free shuttle bus around town.

Seared & Salty $250

5.30pm – 9pm
An intimate twilight feast where fire, flavour and the finest local oysters, seafood and produce take centre stage.

Supported by Olsson’s Salt showcasing local produce with Terra Firma Dining, Breakwall Brewing Co, Glandore Wines and more. Includes Friday GA.

ELEVATE:
The Sipper Club $90

3.30pm – 9pm
New for 2026, The Sipper Club is an exclusive bar with early access from 3.30pm, a prime position and premium viewing of the MG Live Music Stage.  Supported by SoHi Spirits, and showcasing Breakwall Brewing Co and Cupitt’s Estate. Includes Friday GA.

Fireworks Cruise $200

6.30pm – 9pm
Fireworks, a full moon, all drinks and food included – it’s set to be a stunning evening on Wagonga Inlet!

Showcasing Narooma’s bounty with Mr Bold, Breakwall Brewing Co, Petersons Wines & Savannah Estate. Includes Friday GA.

General Admission $45

A huge day on the foreshore with Rock Oysters woven into every element of the program.

Explore merroir in Oyster Farmers Alley and don’t miss the Australian Oyster Shucking Championships, Australia’s Biggest Oyster and our famous Betta Cooking Demonstrations!

Sip from the Borrowed Cuttings Liquor Bar with 20+ celebrated local brewers, distillers and vintners joining dozens of specially selected food and seafood trucks and stalls. 

Music all day – including a special set to 6pm with Sarah McLeod! Sarah will be supported by Jack Biilmann, Val Moogz, Howlin’ Mitch Trio, Chelsey Atkins, Jakob Poyner & Piper Allen.

There’s a free shuttle bus around town and ticketed coaches travel from Batemans Bay, Merimbula and Bermagui.

Children under 17 enter free, but must have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult.

Oyster Farmers Alley

Meet the farmers and embark on a taste journey of the estuaries of the NSW South Coast – there’s no place like it! Oysters are served natural and topped in a variety of serving sizes. Rocks are the hero, but you can also try Angasi (the native flat oyster) and Pacifics (inlcuding grandes of around 500g).

Grab a beverage from South Coast vintners, distillers and brewers too.

Australian Oyster Shucking Championships

Skill. Speed. Plating.

The Australian Oyster Shucking Championships is one of the most unique races in the world and the winner earns the John Susman AM Medal and a place at the World Championships in September.

Australia's Biggest Oyster

Hosted by Sarah McLeod, this is a pet parade for giant oysters! Home of the world’s biggest oyster – 3.2kg in 2024! – this festival favourite shines a light on the Pacific Oyster, a species that can grow to weigh several kilograms and live for up to a decade.

All aboard! Cruise the Wagonga Inlet from the Festival fringe, with Rock Oysters and bubbles.

Wagonga Inlet is one of the largest producers of Rock Oysters and one of the most beautiful on the South Coast. Cruises run for 50 minutes.

Taste freshly shucked Rock Oysters from the inlet, Tilba Dairy cheeses and sip on Petersons Wines sparkling Cuvée or a craft beer.

Ultimate Oyster Experience $140

10.30am, 11.45am, 1pm

A rare invitation to explore merroir, the taste of place, guided by leading Australian oyster and seafood authority John Susman AM, Sydney Royal Aquaculture Chair of Judges.

Throughout the 50minute tastings, you’ll discover how environment, cultivation and season shape flavour, while comparing Rock, Angasi and Pacific oysters at their peak.

Master the Shuck $65

2pm, 3pm, 4pm

New for 2026, our 30 minute shucking classes are hosted by oyster farmers and will teach you a life skill that every oyster lover needs.  

Includes a welcome glass of Glandore Chloe Blanc de Blanc or Breakwall Brewing Co craft beer, an oyster knife and 6 Rock Oysters.

Narooma's Biggest Breakfast $10

Sunday morning is more than eggs and bacon and great coffee (and Rock Oysters), it’s a community feast where good food meets good company.

By joining us for Narooma’s Biggest Breakfast, you’ll be supporting our local volunteer groups, who give their time and expertise to make Narooma such a great place to live.
