Attracting thousands each year, the multiple award winning Narooma Oyster Festival celebrates South Coast NSW oysters and the region’s natural clean quality produce, chefs, and rich artistic and cultural talents.

Held on the first weekend of May every year, this festival has gathered the attention of foodies, chefs and global media – so come and see what it’s all about!

The Festival combines a cosmopolitan food experience with family entertainment. Watch the shucking competition, taste a selection of oysters from all of our local estuaries and fine foods from around the region – while taking in the views at the festival’s stunning location at Wagonga Inlet, Forster’s Bay. There’s live music, regional wines, craft beer & cider to taste and entertainment for kids all day.

Friday, May 6 | 4pm – 8:45pm

Join us at our opening night and taste Rock Oysters and South Coast produce while the sun sets over Wagonga Inlet. Spend the afternoon exploring Narooma then head to the Festival site at Quota Park for a fun night out. Groove to live bands, try fantastic food from the market stalls and settle in for the fireworks at 8.30pm. It’s a fantastic vibe that’s earned a reputation for being an unmissable night! Free for accompanied children under 16.

Saturday, May 7 | 10am – 5:30pm

Enjoy music all day, taste oysters and other gourmet South Coast produce and bring your notebook for the cooking demonstration program. Don’t miss the world famous Narooma Oyster Shucking Championships and Australia’s Biggest Oyster. There’s also markets, food stalls, arts displays, kids entertainment and more! Free for accompanied children under 16.

Ultimate Oyster Experience

Saturday, May 7 | On sale late February 2022

The ultimate oyster masterclass for the serious oyster afficionado! Discover the merroir of our estuaries, the life cycle of an oyster and tantalise your tastebuds on the five pit stops of flavour.

Set on the waterfront in a dedicated marquee, Masterclasses are a 45-50 minute tasting session of Rock Oysters from four NSW South Coast estuaries. You’ll also taste different species including a Pacific and an Angasi oyster together with a glass of sparkling on arrival and service of matched wine or craft beer.

Whale Coast Realty Long Table Dinner

Quota Park, Friday evening, May 6 | 5pm – 9pm

It’s back! Set on the shores of the famously blue Wagonga Inlet, the Long Table Dinner is a memorable experience and popular event on the festival program. This event is a time to reconnect to the pristine waterways where our oysters are grown and the land from which we harvest our food. As the sun goes down, enjoy freshly shucked oysters, canapes and pre-dinner drinks followed by a formal three-course long table dinner featuring South Coast produce with matched NSW wines. Southern Phone Rock Oyster Lounge

There is no better way to enjoy Narooma Oyster Festival than with exclusive access to the Rock Oyster Lounge. The lounge is an adults only space on the waterfront close to all the Festival action. Think delicious locally sourced snacks, a private bar and lounge area to recharge, rest and refresh in between festival experiences. It’s the ultimate chill-out zone. Seafood Long Lunch

Quota Park, Saturday, May 7 | 11.30am – 2:30pm

A new, hosted food experience celebrating the culinary skills and seafood of the South Coast. New to the festival in 2022, the experience will include welcome drinks and canapes on arrival before a three course seafood meal with a special guest host.
